There are many short/long walks and easy tracks on the lower slopes of Mt Taranaki, these meander through lush lowland semi-swamp forest of rimu, rātā, kāmahi, kahikatea and swamp mairie.

Mt Taranaki offers a variety of walks for all ages and levels of fitness.

Len Lye Centre

Based in central New Plymouth, the Len Lye Centre is the first museum in New Zealand devoted to a single artist.

The Len Lye Centre offers greatly improved facilities for the display and archiving of the artist’s work. The Centre is adjacent to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery on Queen Street and visitors are able to pass from one building to the other. The Govett-Brewster will continue its work as New Zealand’s leading contemporary art museum.
